Brushing school
Grab a brush! Here's a set of teeth where a toothbrush shows how brushing is really done — in three steps, just as we teach it at the practice. Spin it, look closely, and try it at home!
1 · Outer surfaces
First, tiny circles on closed teeth, one by one — like giving every tooth its own little pat.
Small circular motions, including along the gumline.
2 · Chewing surfaces
Then we scrub back and forth on the chewing surfaces — that's where most crumbs hide!
Short back-and-forth strokes, moving tooth by tooth.
3 · Inner surfaces
On the inside we sweep from the gum toward the edge of the tooth — plaque, out you go!
Sweeping strokes from the gum toward the edge. Twice a day, two minutes — with a soft brush.
