Practice

We primarily work by appointment — typically with a waiting list of one and a half to two months. In urgent cases we of course see patients, but even then please call ahead so we can plan for your arrival. If you arrive without an appointment, please be prepared to wait.

By phone, during opening hours: +36 94 900 892. As a new patient it helps to mention in advance if the child is anxious — we then leave more time to get acquainted, and the first visit is more a conversation than treatment. If possible, please have the child arrive rested and well-fed. During treatment we cannot always answer the phone — if you cannot reach us, we will call you back shortly. During holidays, we return calls on the first practice days after the break.

For every visit we need the child's Hungarian health-insurance card (TAJ) and address card — without these we unfortunately cannot provide treatment, as both are required for publicly funded care. Please also bring the dental screening sheet received at the school or kindergarten screening, if the child was given one. If earlier dental records or X-rays are available, it is worth bringing those as well.

Care for children in the catchment area is publicly funded (NEAK) and free of charge with a valid Hungarian health-insurance card. Examination, preventive care, fillings and necessary procedures are all included.

The treatments that fall under primary care under Hungarian law: root canal treatment, fillings and oral-cavity treatments. Orthodontics falls into the partially subsidised category — we do not provide it at our practice, but we can issue a referral to an orthodontic specialist clinic.

Give the child a painkiller suitable for children in a dose appropriate to their age and weight, then turn to the Szombathely city dental on-call service: available at weekends and on public holidays between 8:00 and 14:00 on 94/313-340 (Primary Care Centre, Szombathely, Markusovszky Lajos utca 8. — rear entrance, from the car park).
